A Few Words

Sometimes, I get phrases stuck in my head. They’ll be there for a few days, maybe weeks, occasionally years until I use them in a story or poem. I’ve had the words, “shelter in place” as a backdrop to other thoughts. I see those words behind the more concrete words I’m using. Now, with this election, this November, this sense of uncertainty that is the future, those words push closer to the foreground of my thoughts.

Shelter in place.

Take shelter where you are. Be the shelter for yourself and others.

Survive. Heal. Recuperate.

Shelter in place.

Take these poems and stories. Read them. Enjoy them. Share them with friends and strangers. Take care and make the world a more beautiful place.
