When I think of fall, I remember warm, sugared donuts and fresh cider from a farm in Michigan. Fall brings a sense of renewal as my life remains rooted in the world of education. A new school year, a new beginning, and in that way Fall trades on the goodwill of Spring.
Unfortunately, snow drifted around this fifth issue of Scintilla. What was meant for Fall, fell to Winter, but at least it’s here. With these seasonal shifts, the magazine has also seen a change in a new design. We’ve moved away from the graphical nature of the previous issues and are trying something that seems more like a table of contents and scales to mobile devices. We love it, and we hope you do as well.
While we received a large number of submissions for Issue Five, we’ve only selected the best writing. Enjoy the fine poems and prose. May it transport you somewhere unexpected.
