J. Howard Shannon is a US Army Officer with over 25 years in the military. He served two tours in Afghanistan – the first in 2005 with 3rd Group Special Forces and again in 2008 with the New York Army National Guard. He has published three short stories: ‘The Jump’ – BookPress, May 1998 Ithaca, NY; “Red Flowers” – The War Writer’s Campaign, February 2014, and “The Dirge” – Digital Americana Magazine, Winter 2014.
